Meet Emilia

Purchasing manager

As Purchasing Manager, I'm responsible for buying the goods and products needed for our production processes at the best price; for example, work clothes and disposable items, including forklifts and pallet jacks. It's a pleasant, varied, and highly responsible job. I receive purchase requests from colleagues at the various Plukon plants.

Negotiate intelligently to obtain the best purchase conditions

I can't describe a standard workday, as every day is different. Most days, I start by checking emails and potential purchase requests. But I might have to visit one of our plants today, and tomorrow I might be visiting a supplier. This is what I love most about my job. Sometimes it involves small purchasing projects, and other times it's a major purchase. For example, last week I handled the purchase of ten pallet trucks and five forklifts for two Plukon locations.

I started working at Plukon in customer service. After three years, I wanted to do something different, and an opportunity arose through one of their regular internal job postings. I participated in an internal selection process and was chosen to work in the Purchasing department.
