Hello, my name is Alba Barrio. For almost six years now, I have been working as Head of the Quality Department at Plukon San Fernando. My role is to promote a strong culture of quality and food safety throughout the organization by leading the plant’s quality team and collaborating closely with different departments. What motivates me most is seeing how every improvement has a direct impact on product safety and on our customers’ satisfaction.

Alba's workday
The constant collaboration makes the job dynamic and closely connected to the plant’s day-to-day operations.
My workday starts by reviewing the most important aspects of the day with the quality team: incidents, controls, and the plant’s needs. A key part of my role is maintaining the HACCP system and ensuring compliance with certifications such as IFS Food, SAE, Animal Welfare, and Aves de España. This involves coordinating audits, reviewing procedures, and making sure the entire team works in line with the required standards.
The day also includes managing incidents, customer non-conformities, and monitoring KPIs. We analyze results, identify root causes, and work with other departments to implement process improvements.
